Fringe...

So I have been asked about my opinion on Fringe. Wow. It is about time we have a show with a little intelligence. I usually multi-task while watching tv, do a crossword, maybe some work for my real job. And I was following this process during the premier of Fringe. And wow did I get lost. I had to watch it again and actually pay attention. Once I paid attention it all made sense, and wasn't as complicated as I first thought. Its a show with a lot of detail, and missing a little thing can turn into missing a lot. I also liked the second episode, although not as much as the first. I am definitely tuned in enough though, that it has made my DVR list and I look forward to seeing how the season develops. Hopefully, it keeps the streak and doesn't die off as many shows do. I have, unfortunately, not watched this weeks yet, as I am stuck in a training class in Chicago for my real job. But stay tuned because this weekend I have a date with my DVR. Next week should have a lot of opinions.

What does everyone else think of Fringe?

The End of the Summer Season

So the summer season is coming to an end. Now most of the shows I would say are pretty lame, hence why they don't get primetime. But I have two shows that I hope will keep coming back. Greek on ABC Family and Flashpoint on CBS. Greek was a summer show a year ago, and came back this year towards the end of summer. New episodes are still airing so check it out. Its fun and fresh and not as obnoxious as I was expecting. Flashpoint on the other hand had its season finale last night. Not a big finale with the hopes of a return but just a normal episode. But I still hope for its return. Hostage negotiation plus snipers. It doesn't get any better than this.

Let's Play...Guess That Quote!

Below are some of my personal favorite movie quotes. Take a gander and take a guess. Just post a comment with your choices and I'll see who wins. Whoever guesses the most movies correctly will get a special prize.

1) Did anyone ever tell you, you look like a penis with that little hat on?

2) I should know this. My Uncle's a painter.

3) To the top of Mount Wanna-hock-a-loogie.

4) What's today? Game day!

5) Nobody puts Baby in a corner.

6) I pee really fast. I live with five brothers, three cousins and only one bathroom. Believe me - I can pee faster than anyone in the world.

7) That look like hockey to you? To me it looks like two monkeys trying to hump a football.

8) What, did you take Stupid Pills this morning?

9) I refuse to play your Chinese food mind games!

10) Clear the mechanism.

90210...The new class?

So I watched the original 90210, not as religiously as some, but enough to know the going ons of the characters. From high school to college it was like watching the drama version of Saved by the Bell.

But as classics go, did anyone really watch Saved by the Bell, the new class? Where Belding was still principal and Screech was now a teacher? No. Why? Because it wasn't the same. Where was Zack and Kelly and Slater and Jessie? You can't take a classic and throw in new people. It just doesn't work. It gets you thinking about the original characters and what happened to them. Did Zack and Kelly work out, have kids?

And this is what I find my thought process to be with the new 90210. And here they didn't even deem it The New Class. As if it could ever be as good as the classic to be named the same.

Take Gossip Girl, move it to LA, and you have the new 90210. Down to the girl who writes blogs, the alcoholic mother, and the father who is cheating. It is like the change in zip codes of CSI. New characters, new location, same plot line.

And the whole time I am watching, what am I thinking? Show more Brenda, show more Kelly. Stop alluding to the baby daddy and give the gory details of the lives of the original 90210 characters. Do I care about the popular girl who's daddy is cheating and who's mommy doesn't care? No. Do I want to see Kelly fall in love and live happily ever after? Yes.

Needless to say this has been dropped from my DVR list and I am moving on to bigger and better things. Like the show Privileged. That was fun.

DVRs

So I have decided the DVR is one of the greatest inventions out there. With one flaw. I can't take it with me.

The networks should love me because I watch anything and everything out there. And then of course talk about everything I've watched. I am even to the point where I am recording two shows and watching a third on the tiny tv in my bedroom. (Yes I know this sounds lame but trust me I'm multitasking while watching tv. I have a new puppy who keeps me busy). Anyways. My DVR filled up dramatically over the last week because of all the new shows starting. I have to see which ones I want to watch. But now I am going away this weekend. And it will continue to record and no one is watching. Before I know it, it will be full, and I will feel like I am drowning in tv shows.

So you techy's out there, need to find a way to create a miny DVR. Where I can transfer specific shows to this miny DVR and take it with me. Connect it to other tvs or a computer even. Watch it while I am stuck on my flight or visiting my parents. This would be awwwweeesssooommmeee. And yes I know the networks are all worried about copywrited stuff yada yada. So put some securities on this miny dvr. Like once its on the DVR it can't be transfered elsewhere. It can only be overwritten. Yes, I think this is a marvelous idea. And when I mean mini I mean like USB Flash drive mini.

So techy's out there. Get a crackin'!

Television Show "Hole in the Wall"

Have you ever wanted to dress in silver metalic spandex?

Have you ever wanted to squeeze your body into unbelievable shapes?

Have you ever wanted to fall into a pool of green colored water?

I have, I have, I have!

And that must be why I am intrigued by the new game show on Fox called "Hole in the Wall". I first watched it this weekend and thought it to be the corniest, dumbest gameshow on tv. But like being intrigued by a car accident I cannot seem to pull myself away. I thought I was being smart by watching the new intriguing show "Fringe" and then wam bam its over and I am watching people try to fit in a hole in a wall.

Fascinating!
